Purple Peril Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Let me know what you think!! It's been lowered 50 mm, but it don't look like it at the back! Alloys are 17"TSW Reflex on 225/45R17 Think the number plate is pretty apt for the V6!! Quote
seatkid Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Nice wheels....glad to see legal number plate (pet hate) Don't know why you lowered it - makes very difference visually IMO. A rear spoiler always looks nice...if you want to spend some more money, B) Quote
Purple Peril Posted May 19, 2004 Author Report Posted May 19, 2004 Surprising how much the handling has improved just by changing the alloys to 17"!! Lowering it improved the handling again, and it's a bit stiffer which improves it no end!! Quote
johnb80 Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Is the huge gap between the bonnet and the grill normal ? Nice paint job! Regards - JB Quote
Guest nimrod Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 back end looks crap! to much bright red plastic B) you want to get rid of the bright red panel on the hatch and fit a darker one off a Sharan one like so......... Quote
Guest nimrod Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Is that number plate legal? B) Its anti gatso! B) Quote
Richmond Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 I'm sure that I'm being stupid B) , but what is the significance of the Purple Peril's numberplate GOT 7A? Quote
Guest nimrod Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 The 12V VR6 has 174 bhp if the letters are altered slightly it could read GO 174 Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 ..or if you press the top of the "7" down, as he goes past you, you read "Got Ya"!! Quote
johnb80 Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 Is that number plate legal? :o Yes it's legal for off road use :D Quote
MrT Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 I like the number plates with sparking squares like you see on those TV police reality programs. Anyone know where you can buy them? Quote

" Bloody hell. If either of those is correct, I hope that PP didn't pay money for the plate. Quote
djacks42 Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 Is the mk1 back panel off a Alha completely interchangeable with the Gal - any mods req? Anyone got one spare? Quote

Guest kev140766 Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 I thought speedometers were anti gatso. They are free with the car. You look at them and don't exceed the limit. Get caught with numberplates specifically to fool a Gatso and thats a criminal offence. Speeding isn't. As for 'legal for off road use'? what's that all about? You only need number plates on the road. Ok i seem a bit sad, but i got my reasons Quote
Guest nimrod Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 I thought speedometers were anti gatso. Nah! Semtex is anti gatso! :o Get caught with numberplates specifically to fool a Gatso and thats a criminal offence. Speeding isn't. Speeding isnt? could you tell that to chief constable richard brunston as he says otherwise! As for 'legal for off road use'? what's that all about? You only need number plates on the road. A few companies will make you plates up like Purple Perils that are spaced or the letters and numbers are altered so they appear as other letters or numbers! ie. A = 4 but they get you to sign a disclamer to say that the plates will only be used off road at car shows etc and not on the highway! As for my plate I blanked it out for the photo, I have yet to read a review that proves that the anti gatso plates work! I rely on a GPS camera location device as my primary line of defence against gatso's :D till I can lay my hands on the Semtex that will have to do :D Quote
Guest Andyjflet Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 I like it, like the wheels in particular, I think if it was me I would go fot eh smooth look with de locking and de trimming, then add some vents "espace style" to the bonnet and clean the lights up a bit. Nice one mate thanks for the pics Quote
